I am not a fine artist, I am also not very good yet.

So if you are looking forward to awesome polished work you may want to consider looking at a different thread.

I am considered to be a humble person, and hard on myself as a aspiring artist.

I am always willing to open my mind and learn more.

Try to enjoy my thread and bare with me as the thread grows and as I develop as a artist.

Just a quick sketch for today, Going to take a break from this, and go do some studies.

Going to come back to this with fresh eyes then throw some color. Re-define cleaner lines...Much more to do.

I will keep updating the process.

P.S. Sorry, I don't have a scanner. So the quality is subpar.

    Cheers

Just some side project quick ideas for my head for personal endeavors,

    15Minutes

    30mins

I will get around to re-drawing and re-designing them at some point. They're just for my self satisfaction.

My brain hurts from re-designing and all the repetition.

I am going to take a hour break for now, finish the pencils then color then some minor inking.

I have a lot more cleaning up to do but it's starting to come together. My hand is still imperfect it drives me crazy...

    Cheers~

Finally time to color, sheesh tedious

I am still unsatisfied with it because the size restriction. Beggars can't be choosers.

I work in layers almost like photoshop, sketch, color, then line-work.

I am going to be darkening the piece up after I add the color layering.

I was thinking the same thing as well. You just re-assured me. Thank you very much.

I will for sure keep them dark for the final.

    dark shadowing is a love of mine that personally i find difficult to replicate. it adds such a mood to the picture but for the life of me i have so much trouble with it ; _;

I actually like the first version more too, the second on is quite boring frankly. Most of the things that made the first one work or cool are removed or redesigned. (just opinion)

Does it seem calmer? Or is the softness of the drawing?

I will fix it, definitely not to late.

I like that on the first one things are kind of overlapping each other, there is more spontaneity and freshness in it. It almost looks as the two are drawn by different people (not insinuating anything). I guess you tried to organise things on the sencond one, fill the page more evenly, press a style and as a result it lost something.

Well one was drawn when I was mad, one was drawn when I was happy. So may explain it. hah.

Thanks though, It seems anytime I clean up a drawing the initial emotion I had is lost.

Hmm, I will keep them both

    Thanks much.

    Edit* To avoid double posts.

Stress relief thing. I do these often; Fun,
They all turn out different depending on my feelings,
The colors and design always different, very intriguing sometimes.

This one is Happy, then Anger towards the end.

Good to see you are working on art!! I was on a big hiatus as well for years. Started drawings serious back in may. Been working hard ever since, this is no easy task lol Very creative work you are doing. Cant wait to see more, dont forget to push your foundation studies along with the creative stuff! Both are very rewarding! Keep going!!!

its normal to lose the energy of a sketch when you bury it in details, thats the drill thats why you have to get the most ammount of energy you can so some of it can show in the finished piece, loving the abstract stuff im a sucker for that kind of art hahaha, how is that 15 min sketch going? i saw you got the linework done cant wait to see your take on the light and shadow

If you want to get better, i would stop making finished compositions, for the time being. Focus on fundamentals. Study still lives, nudes, and landscapes. Get to the root of how to render. For example your piece from the 5th of December, would it not appear much better with the architecture on the left being in perspective, or the figure properly, lighted more life like?

Im not saying its bad art, the imagination is there, you just need the tools to fulfil your visions.

And for this, you need to sacrifice the glory of making finishing compositions, for the heart sinking, repetitive study of things, sometimes lined with failure aplenty, but after sometime, rewarding and advancing.

Just my two cents. And good luck my friend.
