Forgot the name of a program, help me solve this. (Description inside)

The other day, I was in the mood to watch some digital painting video tuts and came across this video that caught my eye. Like a schmuck I am, I failed to write down or bookmark it. I am hoping that someone can help me find this program I saw within a video with the following description:

You know how you can see shapes in the clouds? There is a program/feature that allows you to fill a page quickly with overlapping lines/curves/and I think organic/geometric shapes until you see something or a scene then you can proceed to paint what you see. Kind of like abstract then you suddenly see a figure or whatever form.

That is the best I can describe it. Hope someone is aware of this such program/feature. Thank you

    Alchemy maybe?

Edit: haven't used it for years but I'm fairly sure you could do the kind of thing you described in Zbrush too.

I have to ask my ITT dept at school to install Zbrush and animation programs next semester. School is over in a week so it might be too late now.
