So okay I'm editing the first post to show my best work... Below is the previous first post, I'm leaving it intact since messing with it before has screwed up a bit of the thread.
[old post starts here]
I'm planning on going to an animation university after taking a gap year. Specifically I'm aiming for Animation Wokshop in Denmark, Viborg. How that goes you'll probably see later on(Future edit: Didn't get in! Getting ready for a second attempt). Here's my newest artwork, which you can probably also find at the bottom of this thread:
Welcome to CA!
I like this digital art drawing, it looks so fresh and snowy.
However, I recommend you to work on contrasts, because the right character is contrasted and easily seen and the left one is very light colored and it looks like a bg type character.
Also, their legs are too thin and their feet are very small.
Anyway, it looks pretty! I want to see your progress. Subscribing right now!
Keep up submitting and practising, good luck!

Hello~ I'm new here and I'm still finding my way around here. I'm currently in high school, but I plan on studying animation in university c:
Either way, I tried a new painting technique recently, I think I'm finally getting the hang of digital art. Attachment 1646905
These are my twin pup(though I think the ears still look cat-like augh) characters from a story I'm trying to figure out right now. Critique on their design as well as anatomy and what not is very very welcome as I have no idea what I'm doing. They're orphans living in a cruddy city in a kind of sci fi + magic type of world. I tried to make their clothes seem worn and overly big(I imagine the orphanage kind of runs out of donated clothes during winter) and to reflect their personalities at least somewhat... What do you think?
(actual 2nd post started from here)
Tried a silly thing and redid one of my first computer drawings(done with a mouse and gimp...ow)
I did some redraws and redesigns of a game today, I dunno if they belong here or not?? Either way, I like them.
Basically Voltage is a japanese company that makes visual novel games, but their english translators think that people will be turned off by the anime art and try to ~westernize~ it. Usually it ends up looking like a terrible romance novel cover, but this time they listened to their fans cries of despair and went for a more cartoony style...! Except their artists can't do that right either?
I traced parts of it, since I did like the face shape and what not, but redid the face completely. Also I couldn't figure out how his hair worked(that's why you use shading), so I think I screwed that up...
Also, I tried redesigning all the characters:
Used this as a reference.
I tried to give them all varied face shapes while reflecting as much of their personalities as I could gather. I'm still not very good at that, though, so some of them have rather similar-looking features, but at least it's better than the original ones. (Poor Henri got skin the color of rotting corpse...)
All the original art (c) Voltage, the game is Knight of my Heart.

The animation is great. It has a nice flow and dynamism. You should post more of those. Also you have a really unique style of painting stuff. Study more stuff, do gestures and figure drawing and composition. Work more on that and good luck.
Whelp, I completely forgot this forum existed. I do kinda miss this place though, so I'm going to try to get back into it. Obviously I've done a lot of artwork since then, but I'm not sure if I should just dump it into one post so uh, here's an animation I've done recently?
This is an animated short I've been working on for a while now.
Also here's a sequence from the short that I was working on yesterday:
This sequence is in the video above too, but in a much rougher state. I think I've sort of figured out walk cycles, but I don't think I'm very good at animating running yet :/
Drew teeth today! Found out it's really hard to keep your mouth in the same shape for more than a minute, and also that one of my front teeth is kinda crooked? I'm not very good with figuring out the place of teeth when the jaw is moved and those sorts of things, also I never know when one's gums are supposed to show... Might do another practice like this but with simpler shapes for the teeth just to see what positions it can take according to the jaw etc. I may not be very good at explaining this....
Worked a little more on my animation and on some traditional stuff, but haven't scanned in those yet.
Only sketched out the smoke's direction just yet, so it looks sorta weird. The rough animation is older, so it's hard not to add in more frames to make it smoother, but if I do that too much I'll just end up remaking half the short.
One more :u
Also found an older file with some progress I thought had disappeared, so that's a yay
