Illustration WIP :: shadow/coloring help wanted

Hi all, first time posting here. Looking for some help with coloring/rendering. This was for an illustration assignment at school (thus the really long format and the typography), and I was looking to depict an old man hard at work at making a robot come to life. I am struggling with making up environments in my head, and would love to get feedback on the lighting and coloring. I aimed for an orange light source that fades to blue. Please let me know what I can do to improve it! No feedback will be too harsh as long as it is specific- drawovers welcome. Thanks, guys!

Really awesome style. I mean the perspective is off, but I think you can get away with it because of the style. I would play with the levels a little bit. If you bring out the darks in those parts or whatever on the right it will really draw the eye over there to the focal point.

I like it a lot though, very cool!

Thanks for replying! How should I go about fixing the perspective? I understand the basics of 1pt and 2pt perspective but I often have trouble applying this knowledge to environments.

Also I checked out your website-- really like the rendering style on the latest illustration you did!
