'Nother sketch Dump... Been working like mad in my small sketchbook so there hasn't been much posted on here lately so I thought I'd regale you with a practice sheet. I may add some of my better pages from my mini sketchbook to the thread SEE YOU GUYS IN THE NEXT ONE! OwO

@LePush: Looking back on my stuff I am cringing at the amount of crap I have produced over the past month on here. It's embarrassing, really XD So yeah.

Your heads are looking good, my only suggestion is that when you build the forms maybe draw them bald first to get a better sense of their skull mass and then add hair. You may have done that already but I didn't really see any construction lines for it which is why I'm suggesting it. There pretty well proportionate (way better than mine lol) but I think trying to figure out the foundations in head construction is important

Also, you need to post more man! I wanna see you post some sketchbook pages

I swear one day I'll be good. I swear one day I will be proud of my work. When that day comes, I'll need to kick my ass and try harder.

Haha I do draw the head bald at first I just do a thorough job of erasing the lines I've been liking your stuff lately too! I have been doing a lot of experimental stuff in my sketchbook (which is tiny by the way, it's like 4 inches by three... Plus it's impossible to scan stuff in )

HAHA! It's been five days! And I have filled a couple pages in my mini sketchbook. All studies n' shite. So here is a study on jellyfish and speculars. I kinda eyeballed it and didn't really use any reference images. So yeah. Thanks StressCavity for the encouragement of specular speculation! :3

COMBO! Just did a quick study on some more texture stuff. This time with brushed metal and rust. Wanted to do some cylinder lighting too. Two birds with one big artsy stone!

I can already see improvement from page 1!
Really try to get your proportions down- especially when it comes to humans. Some of your stuff could also use some stronger contrast/more values.

    Keep practicing and keep posting!

@Stress-Cavity: I AM ALIVE! It's OK I've been on vacation and have been experiencing post vacation hiatus fever. Ergo, not posting anything. I shall remedy that soon but in the meantime I'm going to be doing a lot of practice stuff ._.

@Aether-Tech: Thanks for the advice! I've actually been trying to do some proportion work but everything just seems to come out... Lame.

    Yay! you're back!
Maybe work on some perspective studies...most of the time you default to an orthographic side view which isn't great for showing form.

    @Stress: I KNOW! IT'S BEEN AGES
@Aether: I did the thumbnail and just decided: why not resort to ortho again? But I am trying to branch out into perspective... Too lazy for all the construction lines ._. Sad, isn't it? XD

Sloth, I can tell you that you have definitely improved a lot. Your brushwork and general style development has gotten better, but you shouldn't worry about that! Just draw everyday and progress will always follow

Hey, I just saw your sketchbook, and I've got to say you definitely already show a unique style! Your face proportions have gotten better over time.

Are you doing any specific course or study plan? Or just drawing and improving for now?

@Mustawd (Awesome name!): I'm not doing any study course or anything like that. I'm in highschool, so yar, just improving for the moment. XD Thanks for the compliments!

So! I have done quite a bit during the awful period of time where CA was down. Here they are!

yah...I've had to host my images off-world for posts to work properly.
nice improvement by the way! I'd like to see some environments out of you though....It'll give you a better sense of how value, color, and mood interact.

you're definitely improving! especially the thumbnails and the way you paint! I'd say you could work on making the faces less wide, in general the rule is an eye width or maybe even less from the edge of the eye to the side of the face. And when you draw them at angles try to keep that rule going, use cheekbones as a guide of sorts . Good luck!

I dig those little bird dudes, it'd be fun to see you try out other animals too with your own little twist. Render out some of those bots too! Gotta stretch every brain muscle
