question from newbie to the profs :)

Hi , i'm new here on the forum and actually new to drawing (i drew always but only now started seriously )
I want to improve , i want to be as good as you guys or maybe even better :p SO as i "heard" i have to sketch everyday so i started last week. I sketch about 2 hours (or atleast i try) But i'm not that sure if i'm going the right way with the "method".. I warm up with just some quick stuff and then i draw my hand for about hour or so.. and then do some perspective .
So what my problem is -> i heard if you have all day free(and i have cause school is FINI ) you can sketch for 6-8 hours if your realy want to improve ... what to do in this time ? how to divide it cause with no guidlines i'm getting a bit confused.... if i make any sence help me out a bit

Draw lots of stuff from life. Think about cool stuff that youd like to draw and go find and draw it. Ive been hanging out at museums a lot drawing all sorts of things. Take a life drawing class too. Draw random doodles that suck too. Those will get better the more you do em if you keep drawing from life too.

I crank up the radio and sing along and draw, and it's quite a funny site hearing me blare out Incubus lyrics while doing Bridgeman studies, but that's not the point. To keep myself going, I get a snack after an hour of sketching. I also work towards a page standard. I'm aiming for 10 9x12" sheets of sketchbook paper every day, but I started with 5. Once you get used to wasting your life away, you'll have a shitload of fun and learn a lot. The hardest part, in my opinion, is scanning your sketches in, because you always think, "I could be drawing now..."

Seriously, adopt a daily page minimum and STICK WITH IT!

I suggest starting a daily sketchbook in the sketches and ideas sub forum. Its a pretty neat idea and it forces you to work, also you will get some great crits on what and how to do stuff better.
