Just doodling and dabbling in the world of art.

My name is Samantha, and I am currently 16 (17 now). I've been on here a couple of times, but I've just never been able to really sink my teeth in.
I am often rather busy with school, so I apologize in advance for any slow updates! You'll just have to bear with me on that one.

Thanks for looking! Comments and Critiques are always appreciated.

Here's something I finished up tonight, a peryton. I tried working from dark to light to get those darker values in.

Hi Samantha. Your animals are looking great. I think you have a great sense of color and combining colors so the painting is in harmony. Interested to see more.

    Thank you!

Here is my most recent work, I have a few sketches that I will try to upload soon. School has just been kind of crazy, tests and projects and all of those lovely messes. I'm afraid it's more animals though, I'll try to branch out with some figure drawing and studies when I can!

The scratchboard project has been finished! It was an interesting medium to try out, I had fun even though the scales took a good deal of time. If I ever end up using it again I'll try to be more careful with my values, they kind of blur into each other on this one.

Now it's on to this year's Christmas card! My parents have my brother and me draw something every year. This time I'm going for the reindeer, here's a wip.
It has a long ways to go. I need to add some more trees...

Next I'll be doing a self portrait in art, woo boy! Ought to be fun.

You've made a good start here pal, i would like to see some slower still life studies to really get a mastery of the form, try mixing up the textures to challenge yourself. also maybe some environment work and get yourself a book on animal anatomy. Keep at it.

Thanks man! Sounds like a good idea, I'll get on it this weekend.
Until then, here are a few things. Mainly Philippine eagles, some quick studies and sketches for final. I would love to have a dynamic pose, but I am having trouble. We'll see how it turns out.
There's also a rather horrid werewolf, I'm sorry I ought to look things up before drawing from my head. And then I doodled a 'terror' for the teen challenge. Probably won't go anywhere though.

    Thank you lennon! (:

    Here's the latest wip
time is a struggle with these ap classes and college apps
that combined with my procrastination makes a for an art killer haha

I'm trying to develop an AP art theme... lately I've been interested in drawing people, so I was thinking I could focus on a surreal transformation of the human form, but particularly in the face. It will probably change 10 more times ahhaa (I started with dragons, but I was afraid I would get bored of that because I draw them frequently)
anyways, here's what I've got, feel free to give suggestions/critique!
