    ghost59 sketchbook

Hello I'm ghost59. I have been drawing (the wrong way) for three years. Now I'm starting to draw the right way. Which is from life and re learning the fundamentals. I don't plan to do any drawings from imagation. Until a can do realism.

Loving the surreal stuff at the beginning! Doctor Who inspired? You should take a look at sinix or sycra on youtube, really helped me when I wanted to level up. Will definitely check back once in a while.

what i have learn from sycra is that it takes years to become better at drawing. so after my second semester of college i am dropping out. and just going to get a job, work most of my life and do art on the side. maybe in my late 50s ill go to art school for animation but right now i have to cancel my appcation because i am not good enough to make a portfolio. it takes years to become better. i cant do it this year or the next. or even ten years from now. so ill just get a crappy job and live a crappy life, do art for 50 years and then go to sva for animation.
if i didn't waste my youth doing nothing and not drawing maybe it would be a different story. but i cant change the past.

Well, that isn't really a great plan/attitude, unless you really have some reason that you want to wait until you are old to do good art.

A much better plan would be to work on drawing daily in a consistent and purposeful way.

For example, say you wanted to learn to draw people.
Start doing anatomy studies, figure drawing, portrait drawing, and gestures.
You don't have to do all of these every day, just pick one or two and concentrate on it.

Draw as long as you can without getting too burnt out.
Don't draw only from your head, it doesn't get you anywhere. Draw from life and photographs, and even from better artists.

Things will suck, it will get boring, you will be angry that you don't draw as well as you like, that is normal.

Posting here can help, but mostly just as a motivational tool, and occasionally you will get a good critique.
The really important thing is that you work your butt off, that is how you bypass the "when I'm 50..." thing.

Good luck on your journey, don't give up if you really want it.
I'll see you around if you stick here.

    Go draw something! =D
