Brakktice - Brakken's sketchbook
The name's Max, but I go by Brakken, too. I've been drawing all my life, but have only started taking it seriously over the last few years. And now I have decided to begin really knuckling down and learning it! My plan is to keep to a daily schedule that includes warmups, lined drawings, digital painting, and animation - posting my work here as I go. I have weekends off, to work on my comic projects.
I think one of my greatest flaws is getting to a point with a drawing where I know I need to add more to it, but I've no idea how or where it is required. I hope this thread will serve as a journal and a guide - and help me achieve my goals as an artist.
Okay, let's do this!

Some of these scanned in slightly overlapped D:
30-minute paint from Prince of Persia. Found this one quite difficult to refine.
And I think this one might be done - not sure where to go next with it. Thoughts?

Gestures and jetstures ;D
In human anatomy, I find I struggle most with legs, so I'm focusing on them - bone studies and basic shapes.
15-minute storm paints. I've been shying away from different brushes so far - but I think I'll start trying them out.

Gestures and studies. Bones are kind of awesome.
30-minute Davy Jones. I feel inclined to finish this one, actually.
And starting a new original painting!

And a little update on that other painting.

And a speedpaint of Hearts Boxcars from MSPaint Adventures. (can't recall how long - 45-60 minutes I think)

Didn't have much time at allllllll today - only managed to update this a little
Working on this one has been pretty fun so far - but I've kinda been avoiding those cliffs, and the kid's pants. Can't ignore them forever!

Gestures and arms - arms are crazy, yo
15-minute fish. Li'l fatty fat fish.
And an update on this one
It's weird - most of the time I have a vision for a drawing, and then the final image either fails to meet it, meets it perfectly, or in rare cases exceeds it. But with this one I don't really have a vision of the end result - it's being drawn in my head at the same rate as on the page. Pretty exciting actually
