    Cracked fairy tales

I'm just getting into this project and thought it might be a good one to get critiques on as I go. In the current discussion with the art director this will be 8 or 9 pictures in a fold out panel. I'll add pics as the project comes along.

This is a quick test sketch to see if the style is correct.

There will be a red riding hood in the corner, under the wine bottle to bring home the point that this is not just a pregnant wolf.

    Comments are very welcome.

    first color

Here's the first color. I'm somewhat new to to this technique so comments on coloring would be great. It still needs to be tighted up a bit.

    I really like this!

The background makes more sence in color. On the pencil drawing, i thought the wolf was inside the house, but now i can see she is outside.

So far i think the coloring looks really great on all the foreground (except the basket will need more tones to fit the style of the rest) I really love the way you used many colors to shade and give dept to object, like the littles touches of red and green on the dress.

Cant wait to see progress, and how you will pull off the background.

your line quality and conscious varitey line is particularly strong; the heavier line weight on the edge of the belly made me think twice, at first i didnt like it, then i realized that it effectively draws attention to the area as opposed to just giving "weight" to a figure or object, so it works.

I think adding faces into the backgound of things is interesting, but the one in the foreground is perhaps too obvious. maybe you could lighten those lines.

good color scheme, maybe you can try incorporating some subtle tans into the green on the ground to better differentiate the ground from the leaves in the woods.

Great work! can't wait to see the finished piece!
