    Michal Haluza┤s sketchbook

Hi guys. Welcome in my sketchbook. I created it to get advises on my drawing and to force myself to draw more because I am currently studying architecture so there┤s not as much time for drawing as i would like to have.
So thank you all for your help and time in advance and I┤ll be posting few times a week something or so, I hope.

1st painting of sloppy landscape inspired by Jule Verne┤s book two year vacation done yesterday.
edit: the goal was to combine mood, composition and littel bit of painting skill, because i don┤t have much

I didn┤t draw any people literally for year┤s so i need the relearn it again and here are my todays sketches od different figures. It was drawn from reference of same poses done by Aomori from devian art forum and main focus was to find proporions and curvature of body which looks natural and balanced.
I will welcome any constructive criticism. Thanks

I had some time so I did more body poses studies and some arm anatomy. I am little bit more familiar with body poses by thinking about it as a bunch of cylinders in perspective.

It┤s been a busy weekend so I didn┤t have as much time to draw as I would like to have but I managed to do atleast something.
Sorry for the poor quality of first two drawings but my scaner doesn┤t work so I make a photo of it by phone.

try to draw more by hand than photoshop buy a sketchbook take it with you everywhere and draw more from life and for the stickfigures try to draw more of an action line i see it with some of the sticks but not with al off them keep practising and you'll get there

Every critique helps me to get on step closer towards my dream so feel free to

In a lot of the figure drawings, the legs look a bit longer than they should be. Try doing life drawings or even study from photos if you don't have the time to go out. http://artists.pixelovely.com/practi...igure-drawing/ is a great place to start. You'll be more confident with your lines this way too.

Late night quick playing with brush settings and values. Face is messed up but the goal wasn┤t to draw great portrait. More importantly new workflow is more natural to me because i have never done any traditional painting like with gouache, oil etc. Since like 10 I have been using only pencil.

Grey_Rift: Hello and thank you for your advice. English isn not my native language but I tried to explain that I am looking for ways how to apply value paint in PS. Anyway, I tried sketching in paper sketchbook mont ago but basically only place where I go is school and there┤s no time for sketching other than floorplans and so on and even if i have problems with PS, it┤s faster to work with, no papers laying around, and the most important - it is fun for me. Thank you again for your comment.

Goal was to make readable rough painting since I was aproaching photoshop like an exact science so I need to get more relaxed, playaround with brush size and colours and not to be so stiff if that makes any sense. I used color picking because my color mixing really sucks.

Todays painting. It was fun, tried some brushes, layer modes, textures and it worked quiet well, composition could be definitely better and it lacks human scale objects which I am not happy about but i forgot it and at the end it looked forced.

I had a lot of school work and wasn┤t really in the mood for sketching or painting for long time. This first thing I have done since the last one. It┤s painted over a photo with added textures and so on. Just trying things.
