Then i must have a serious memory problem Pixel, because i clearly remember all your female characters sharing the same face and body proportions, but as you say is only in this case. My fault, sorry.
In conclusion no more the same face again right?

    My votes were...

Alexson Just a pleasant, satisfying interpretation of the brief. This one would make a great Christmas card. Also, fantastic economy of strokes.

Yongs Setting aside the fact that this is a really powerful illustration, the character design here is really interesting. I wish it had been featured more prominently so I could get a better look at it.

CassandreBolan I struggled a bit with the practicality of having lit candles on her head, but in the end I was won over by the many interesting and well-thought-out design elements (I love that her face is split) and the solid rendering.

    Some other thoughts...

AlexLH Thanks for your kind words. I think Yongs nailed it by suggesting that you use more reference. The structure of your face is promising, but things get less anatomically believable as you go lower, with legs and feet that seem like guesswork. Deviantart.org's stock photo section is a (sometimes spooky) gold mine. Your rendering looks a bit rushed, and as you've noted your values are a bit flat. Also, by adding the background's horizontal line, you've placed your character in a gray room, which works against the nature of a winter spirit. I like the design of the staff.

Unicornmadness This was another of my favorites. Gentle, imaginative, and clean.

Lege1 I LOVE this as an illustration.

ikuru Really fun costume design and great colors.

Harmageddon No votes for you as yet, but, strictly from a design standpoint, this is my favorite. I love his gear and raggedy reaper garb. A bit more attention to pose, composition, background and rendering and you would have had my vote...this character, hunched over a little more (but still with that nice head tilt), a bit less crowded in the frame, with a more somber background, with a level of finish that gives us more juicy details...perhaps a mask rendered to where we can see that it is, for instance, bleached wood or rusted metal.

    My portfolio

Would you like to see my drawr-rings?

Will design for food, provided that we all agree that money is edible.

Yeah whatever, I'm not going to argue about this.
