    Working with ellipses

I was wondering what is the quickest and most reliable way to draw ellipses for industrial stuff.

I guess the ellipse shape tool is good enough. So far I have just stroked the path on a new layer and then lock the transparency on that layer and so on. But I don't know if this is the fastest way to work.

And actually there is a big problem I've run across. Once I have rotated an ellipse and I want to resize it again along the minor axis of the ellipse (i.e. change the degree of a rotated ellipse) that's very complicated because Photoshop has fit the rotated ellipse inside a new transform box, which is not rotated, so when I try to resize the thing it will get distorted. I hope someone will understand what I mean... :/

Make or stroke an ellipse on a layer, then convert it to a Smart Object. Then, even if you transform it multiple times, the transform box will remain relative to the original position/axes.

    That's a very tedious work-around...

I don't know, hopefully someone has the answer. My solution have been to make an elipse custom brush and paint on a new layer - if I need to, I simply edit the shape before merging.
