    Changing palette color?

One thing I've noticed is that when working on a dark image and opening the popup palette to change my brush size or hardness it really hurts my eyes because the patette is so bright compared to the image. After this I am temporarily blinded for a second or two which is really annoying. I am kinda worried this may damage my eyesight in the long run.

I was wondering if it is possible to change the color of the palette to a more diplomatic hue. I work on a 4 or 5 years old Imac in CS5.

    Any clues?

You can change the brush size and hardness without the palette. Just click cmd and option (was there ctrl also?) and you can drag with pen.
