    Sergio Toppi has passed away

The awesome Italian comic book artist and cartoonist Sergio Toppi passed away. I absolutely loved his work.

Sergio Toppi's stuff is really awesome. I first discovered his stuff when Bobby Chiu showed one of his books while on vacation in Europe. A new book seems to be coming out (or a reprint?) which is available for preoder: Sharaz-de: Tales from the Arabian Nights

Wow, first Joe Kubert, now Toppi. I'll take this as an opportunity to get some of his work, so if anyone has recommendations...
already got Sparrow volume 12 by him, but it's really in a tiny format, short too.

It's not new, we've already had it for awhile in Europe, I got it about 1, maybe 2 years ago. Weak and formulaic story, but the art is definitely worth it imo.

When I first saw his work I said "where have you been all my life". He is probably the most underrated artist I know of. It's a crying shame that none of the big publishers have translated and reprinted his work.

Raoul Duke, I completely agree. I hope that changes and we can have the opportunity to see his works in book form. His contribution to art certainly deserves that.
