Been doodling since I can remember. Been obsessed with improving lately, so hopefully this sketchbook will be a good launching point! Some pieces to kick it off:

A few sketches from observation:
Great start man its hard to believe that those portaits from head really cool skills)
Artezianin - Thank you! I am hoping to get better at working more portraits and figures digitally.
Klaustrophil - Thank you!
Digital color study practice (I hope to get better at these. Any tips would be much appreciated!):
30 second gestures:
A quick pose from imagination and some design elements before bed:
Didn't get to get as much practice in today as I would have liked. Couple quick sketches:
Hooray for iPad sketches!
Did a few random things today. A straight-to-pen & marker rendering (from photo ref.), some painting practice and some 20 second gestures before bed.
If anyone is willing to help shed some light on how to keep values from becoming muddy when blending in PS, I would be forever grateful!
A few observations from life, photos and a couple of my favorite artists. The Master studies were done from pieces by Ashley Wood and Kekai Kotaki.
First 2 of my 100 Portraits:
Portrait 3 of 100. 97 to go!
This is completely kicking my tail tonight. Must keep trucking.
Some gestures, studies and a doodle.
One quick doodle before bed. Wanted to try a gesture from imagination. Captain No-Nose.
The sandstone arch in front of the deep blue sky has a great sense of depth, nice stuff. With the axe-wielding dude facing away from the camera, you ignored a lot of shadow on his back -- maybe that squint technique would help you see the values better?
Mr Zero: Thanks for the words. I totally agree about the color on the axe wielder. I need to do more value studies before venturing into the world of color. I will try the squint technique the next time I brave the color palette!
Assassin Sketch from imagination, playing with value:
Dove into a full color portrait...went a little better than planned. Still needs work.
Sketch Dump! Been a while since I've posted, so I thought I would just drop in some things Ive worked on since my last post.
Sketch dump time! Some gesture work combined with some rendering practice and just general noodling around.
