Known spammer - removed the link - more for the videos next to it than the the news report, which was posted 3 years ago.

I didn't think it was possible to be called an artist when you have nothing to say. It's like being a writer who publishes individual words as books and expects to be praised for it.

A young man is in hospital after an accident which has left him in
severe pain and under the influence of some serious painkillers.
After a hearty dose of the hospital kitchens finest food, he falls
asleep, only to wake up and found that he lost bowel control while
sleeping and has utterly shat himself and his sheets.

Too mortified to contact a nurse while in this predicament, he bundles
up the filthy shit stained bedsheets and hurls them out of the hospital window.

Several floors down a drunk is stumbling by, still heavily intoxicated from
his latest bender. Suddenly the crap filled sheets land on him. The drunk roars
with shock and fury and begins swearing and punching at the shit stained mess
as it wraps around him. He eventually fights the sheets off which lie in a heap
at his feet, while the drunk stares down at them confused and swaying back
    and forth.

A passing police officer who was drawn to the uproar, looks at the scene and
asks what happened. To which the drunk replies:

"I dunno...but I think I jussht beat the crap out of a ghost..."

Hunh, reminds me of the time when our local church got burned down, which was extra shitty (no pun intended) because said church allowed us to hold our roleplay and LARP sessions inside the church every week at evenings. I get opposing organized religion but thanks for ruining stuff for everyone else too.
And attacking the only defenseless party, that is, the house. Now we have an unusable wreck of a building that's apparently too expensive to rebuild or destroy properly.

No, this was apparently just a 20-something local dude.
EDIT: Because obviously when you want to burn a building you choose the one you live close to.

I apologise, I think the original burnings took place in Norway, but
I did find this on wiki:

"Kalle Holm, an 18-year-old Finn known to have played drums in several Finnish metal bands, has stated on his website that he was influenced by Burzum. He set fire to the Porvoo Cathedral in Finland in May 2006: the roof of the church burned, but the ceiling, vaults and interiors survived undamaged. The attorney's claims that the motives behind the arson were related to a "hatred towards Christianity" were overruled in court. He was sentenced to three years and two months of imprisonment without parole.[33] The sentence was later doubled to six years and six months by the Court of Appeal.[34]"

    Is that the asshole?

No, though this happened in the same year but in Kaivoksela. I dug some more info an apparently the same dude burned down two separate places (that church and one of Jehova's Witnesses' place which was close to inhabited apartments) because "he didn't understand what he was doing". In two separate days.

Well that blew my mind today. Did rpgs ever get the "Satan worship/out of touch with reality" stigma over there?

They sure did here. Even today the phrase Dungeons and Dragons
is still a bit taboo. I actually had this stigma discussion recently
with a buddy while watching Tom Hanks in Mazes and Monsters. (again)

EDIT: Oh snap Psycho! Great minds...etc.

The funny thing is, both the original VHS and the DVD cover have these weird
out of context fantasy covers on it. One reviewer rented it out when he was a
kid, all excited about a fantasy movie starring Hanks.

He compared it to renting Cheech and Chong and finding a copy of Reefer
    Madness in the box instead.

Here are the cover examples. The one with Hanks arms folded is a new one to me.
The maze, the dragon, the sword...etc...none of that appears in the movie.

I can't say I'm an expert on this, but overall I'd say no, not very widely at least. Of course there's always some overzealous people who will declare anything as satan worshiping but at least I don't recall hearing explicit experiences about that from other people. Probably because this is a lot smaller country and RPGs started to seep into here after the biggest "Mazes and Monsters" type of hysteria had gone down.

    Jack Chick pamphlets are great!

The artwork's usually pretty good and the fanaticism is charming in a disturbing kind of way.

[I gotta go look at the anti-evolution one, now. . .]
