    Concept: Warp Steed
Warp Steeds bodies are made from super dense metals and dark matter, it's unique structure enables them to alter the fabric of space itself, pulling into the holes that lace their bodies and forcing it out at a greater speed, essentially dragging them though space. Once they gain enough momentum they are able to warp huge distances in the blink of an eye, and rarely crash into suns or planets, unlike certain human-built ships are prone to do. Their innate warping ability, low food bill and good temperament have made them the choice mounts of many spacefaring races, and the Galactic Sheriffs Department now use nothing else.

    Concept: Warp Steed

The idea is based around these colonies that are built on a set of planets within the same solar system and that these planets are indirectly connected by some type of rift energy that occurs as natural, unstable elements on each planet. The colonies have managed to harness this energy and with advanced technology, build portals to travel in between, no matter what planet they're on.

The creatures, who have been exposed to this energy for milions of years, have developed a natural ability to travel through these rifts and have proven to be excellent for fast travel through the various terrain found on each planet.

Here you can see one of the creatures in a warp rift test launch.

    Concept: Fire Squid Warp Steed
The Fire Squid travels across space using biological rocket propulsion. it's able to create this by secreting a mixture of chemicals, which react violently with each other, into an organ near its anus. Its squid like composition allows it to withstand extreme pressures, and a flexible and durable tongue also acts as a face shield for protection from debris. A humanoid life form can safely ride in the creature's lung sack, a compartment that remains open while the Fire Squid is within breathable atmospheres, and closed when the Fire Squid is holding its breath through space.

    Concept: Warp Steed: velocinonyx oxyrinchus
The Warp Steed is a product of genetic engineering. Combining the aerodynamics of a shark and the speed of a cheetah, along with organic nanobots. The nanobots convert antimatter into warp energy that is stored in the warp steed's organic nacelles. When air is pushed through the gill slits on the neck, it activates antimatter allowing the beast to achieve warp travel throughout the universe.

These guys possess their ability innately. It's only once their tiny maleable brains are harnessed that the rider can control where they jump to.

Your entry was in half an hour late, which may be why it was passed over when Clark made the poll.

i LOVE bonjours entry - great design, great style, simply put a great illsutration. i really wanted to vote for it but i missed the space-crossing-ability.

voted KDZ for nice design and following the brief pretty well.

Meteor panda - they included the cowboy to reference pulp-literature and the typical covers.
