guys, you all have read the description i guess - i am wondering how a lot of the designed creatures are supposed to travel accross universe. Some "just" have legs and no cockpit or some sort of support for the rider. Are they supposed to jump from planet to planet with one gigantic leap? riders will be crunched in space.

just mentioning this since i love logical designs.

ninety9: I felt the same way, but rememnber, sometimes we just might have to suspend reality to do an entry. Plus, the theme references the sort of pulp 1950s scifi/space feel, which by definition almost ignores logical or realitstic science. Part of COW is having fun trying to create an explanation of how these things work... some of them are flat out physically impossible, but it's all about presentation. For example, though I can't finish mine, I was gonna call it a Spaceripper. The "horn" on its head had the ability to pierce the fabric of space and time, thus allowing the rider/pilot to warp around. Pretty ridiculous in terms of real science, but acceptable within the rules of the contest. You mighr have a job as a concept artist where they task you with creating unbelievable things, but part of the fun is trying to make it work

Sunseaker: lol thank you, but I know I can't finish it well enough within the time. I may revisit the idea when I'm more skilled. I really like how yours looks so far... and a lasso would be pretty cool lol

ninety9 Designed creatures don't need to be able to fly across the universe. They need to be able to WARP across it. Like protoss units in Starcraft for example.

tsabu - i watched all seasons/series of star trek and think that this is the WARP that most of us know. i even looked it up on wikipedia. it´s not TRANSPORTING/BEAMING it is still travelling ULTRAFAST on kinda wave through space.

Sure, you all are right and it´s about the fun of designing a creature and i by no means wanted to say that this is bad. I just mentioned that if you really follow the brief there are some things to think about. And what i researched about what could be warp-speed is that it still is travelling in space with extreme speed wich leaves all my arguments valid BUT i am no physician.

    Great designs this round anyways.
