Blacks (colour in general) are slightly washed out on site.

There is a noticeable difference between the blacks of PS, Painter when compared to CA. Am I doing something wrong, or is this just how it is? Thanks. All input is appreciated.

It would indicate you're using different color management settings. sRGB is the profile you want to use in general.

Adobe RGB allows for richer blacks I think and more vibrant colours. Is there a reason why the forums doesn't use it? Thanks.

Most people use the sRGB color space. This has nothing to do with a web site. If your monitor cannot display Adobe RGB colorspace it's useless to use it. sRGB is pretty much a standard for web browsing.
