These studies are looking awesome. I really like the gestures you just did =]
you are your own stile already, it can be seen in cartoonic pieces that are not bad at all, wish i can avoid cartoonic at all, but i cant...
Did a couple of gestures from posemaniacs and applied them to one of my characters. Gonna do some more of these.
I go back to college in a week!
Whale Shark for Shark Week!
Adorable! Looks like someone spilled a glowstick all over him at a blacklight party.
Check out my sketchbook! Socially acceptable opportunity to yell at a teenage girl!
Quick study of a background from Gravity Falls.
Not much of an update, unfortunately. I colored two of my previous drawings.
I've been fighting a cold and got lazy with my studies.
Also college is approaching fast and I'm in a rush to get ready for the move.
Gotta get back into doing studies!
Psychobuddy - Thanks!
Mr-Joe - I love A Goofy Movie! I'm influenced by Western cartoons, definitely.
A couple of quick studies. Feet from Bridgman and a background study from The Princess & The Frog.
Some gestures via posemaniacs and a sketch.
Thanks for stopping by my sketchbook!
your stuff has an amazing amount of life to it, I think it's due to the loose, free lines you use. I'd be really excited to see anything you animate.
As for crit, hmm, maybe try do more figures in complete environments, a lot of your characters seem to be floating in space at the moment. (I should probably follow my own advice here, haha)
Also, I love your whale shark. He makes me laugh!
Clur - Thank you! I'll do that!
Just got moved into my dorm and haven't had much time to draw. Just did these on posemaniacs.
Oh gosh, I've been away from my sketchbook for so long. After the forums went down for maintenance, I started school, and have been extremely busy. Here are some sketches from my absence:
Digital practice... Please critique!
Hi guys! Here are some sketches.
This is for a Pokemon Challenge that my college's Illustration Student Collective is holding.
Thanks for stopping by at my sketchbook.
You have tons of great stuff in here. Your characterdesings are very charming and your studies are great too. Especially like the little Pokemon. It's so cute.
Hi everyone! I'm starting into finals at college. Just a month left until winter break. I'm wondering if you guys could give me advice on what to focus on with improving my art. I know I need to work on creating finished pieces & digital art. Environments, too. Any advice/crit will help.
Here are some recent drawings from my sketchbook:
Here are two fairly recent digital sketches. I was really busy with school and now I'm on break, so it's time to recover.
Here's some more...
A portrait sketch I just made
And a very sloppy environment... not my forte
Does anyone have any tips on drawing/painting environments? Any tutorials/books you recommend?
Sorry for my recent absence. School has kept my working hard.
This is something I finished just before Spring Break started.
It's for my Intro to Illustration class.
I posted more about my process for it on my blog, here: http://jinnyhinkle.blogspot.com/2013...c-process.html
Hope you like it.
I love these - the character style, the way you use those gestures, the shapes, it's all coming together so nicely! Make sure you keep up the studies too because it's adding a lot to your toon stuff.
The last croc is fantastic - but I feel the refined versions lose a little something from that awesome silhouette. If I look at the silhouette I kind of get the impression the shoulder overlaps the head a little, making the head slightly hunched like a really cool sax player. But in all the cleanups you've done the arms fully extended and lost that shoulder gesture. I don't know if you agree?
