    Blondee's Sketchbook

Hi, Iíve been lurking here for several months and decided to post a sketchbook to help improve my drawings.

Iíve been drawing on and off for a few years now, and started to take it seriously several months ago.

I am currently studying software development at university but spend more time drawing.

Will mostly be uploading traditional drawings and digital from ipad and with my wacom.

Currently practicing drawing heads at various angles using Loomis method.

Will be uploading sketches as soon as i get my scanner working

    edit: changed thumbnail.

Love those apple & onion studies. Especially the middle one is looking pretty realistic to me

    Thanks!

I'm trying to get better at using color, i had got in a habit of just painting in grey scale.

I have been practicing constructing faces to increase my accuracy using pencils so I don't have much to upload for now.

I decided to attempt to render a face, but my proportions were slightly off, which I want to improve. I'm struggling to draw/render hair, so any tips/suggestions on drawing hair would be welcome.

Wow great work and welcome to the forum. Your work really comes alive with tone, you clearly have a good instincts for form and shape. I'd love to see more color and maybe some figures.

Thanks! I'll definitely start trying to produce work in color; which was why i attempted the fruits, they were actually my first attempt at color painting.

As for figures, I will definitely be doing some photo studies of them soon(hopefully in color!) , I usually practice anatomy daily with sketches, but have never attempted to render on the computer.

I have been busy with pencil sketches, but still don't have access to a scanner.

I have done a character concept illustration for my uni assignment. Will probably be some more of these in the next few weeks.

Ahh CA is back, hopefully this will work. Ive been pretty busy working on drawing/construction of the head from different angles/perspective and some other some other stuff.

But for now, i found an old (bad) drawing i did 2 years ago and thought i'd try re-do it and a face.

I did this today to practice planes of the face. I drew the face with no reference, but loosely used a reference on the shading. I did this to see what I need to improve on the most.

I've realized I definitively need to improve the construction of eyes/nose. And I need to check my proportion and perspective much earlier as I always notice a lot of errors after I have started shading that I could have easily avoided had I simply taken the time to check.
