Wretched Hey Wretched, thanks for the long comment!
It's a really nice genre to experiment in, since it's kind of wild and crazy. Draw it man! Yeah, it's always good that it's brought up so I don't forget it. I feel that I am very aware of it, but that I cannot really focus my energy on one aspect in my paintings. I sort of go all over the place. I understand completetly what you mean. It's something I've wanted to bring fourth as well. But as you said, it's a fine balance. I'll try to do some studies with this in mind so that I might get rid of the fuzziness once and for all and gain some more control over my edges. Might be a long process though. Thanks for the healthy reminder mate!

Well you seem to know what you're talking about. So you definitely have the ability to observe! Thank you.

Long traditional update incoming! Some sketches from live-modelling class and a model painting. I Guess that I'm trying to focus more on values both in the sketches and the painting. The hard part is observing values within a 30seconds-2minute time-frame. Don't know if I'm making any progress yet

Sorry for the bad camera quality. I apologize if your eyes sting.

Todays valuestudy. It's supposed to be Russel Crowe. But I kind of abandoned the likeness after a while, deliberately.

Practicing silhouettes. Picked out three to work a bit more on. Working on the middle one now and pushing it further.

AT LAST! My life has been validated. Kidding. But thank you for considering my input. And yes I can see you understand the principle, even in the older posts there is some nice edge interplay, I just know how my brain works and simply hearing it from the outside can mean the difference between absorbing the information or completely dismissing it as another meandering, random thought.

Great life sketches btw, that looks like it was one hell of an intense session. Also, love the brush you're using on the goblin's shirt, and the fur one too, really nice effect.

Haha! Of course, I'm glad that you took the time. Trying to absorb all the critique I gain! Yeah I've tried experimenting with it before, but I suppose that it's not really stuck with me. I want to master it though, someday! Ahead of me now is the long road of finetuning it! Thank you man, I try to make it intense since it's a nice opportunity to analyze. Love em as well. I'm kind of a brush coward otherwise! D:

Really liked doing this Dune study. Tried to really observe the colors and not use those near-blacks, and also to not spend too much time on it. Going on to apply what I think I've learned. Also, marco!

Nice posts here! Really like your studies and figure drawings.
One thing I noticed in your digital works; is that they look "muddy". I don't know whether you're using black in your shadows or no, but it looks like it. Try to make shadows more colorful, use different colors for it, different tones and saturation levels. Good luck!
    Keep it up

ChaosTheory Thank you mate! Yeah I'm slowly trying to move away from black. I used it a lot before in everything. I will try to do that, or I'm already trying to in a way. Finding it hard! Thanks again for the advice, appreciate it!

Hey, great progress. Loved the silhouettes, you should try working on some of those creatures.
Lastest faces look good, pay attention to the size of the skull. Some of them seems to have their skulls crushed (either that or you were doing only the faces ).
    Keep it up!

Januz Hey thanks man. Yeah I'm going to pick out three and work some more on them when I get the time! Haha I'm kind of exploring way of stylization there, but that's no excuse to crush skulls I suppose Thanks I will!
