Ooh, I just remembered something really weird I saw on DA a year or two ago.

You know how they have fangroups that collect fan characters and fan fiction based on an established property? Example: Naruto or Bleach or something. Sure, makes sense. Kids do that all the time.

Well there are groups based around fan characters and fan fiction of THE BEATLES. Yeah.

I cant...Really, it's the fan characters that take the cake. How do you..? Guh.

Well, there's also a fanclub for Louis XVII http://petit-xvii.deviantart.com/
Apparently it's again by one of those people who think they're married to Louis XVI and this is like a fanclub to their... son.

    .....

Clicking on this thread was a mistake.

    My Sketchbook

And then God said, "Let us make man in our likeness and our image. Let us make him ridiculously hard to draw so that poor artists everywhere will have to spend 10,000+ hours failing repeatedly before they can begin to capture the form and likeness onto a two-dimensional surface." And there was man. And it was good. And artists everywhere lost their minds.

    Unhappy Things change...

Back in The Day; Deviant Art was a pioneer in publishing, outré, cutting-edge work in various media, that no other online venue would allow for various reasons of censorship, ect. The site didn't really make much money but established itself as "THE PLACE" to see artwork & new talent. Unfortunately, the originators of the site sold it to a new management & slowly many changes began. Economics, politics & personalities began to dominate the "original" principles of the site so, that it is virtually, not even close to all that the original Deviant Art stood for. Do not throw-out, the baby with the bathwater; as I have met some totally great artists & people on that site, it's just ..not what it used to be...

I stopped fighting my inner demons; we're on the same side now...

I don't really mind furry fuckery being watered down by a decent cloud hosting, ok portfolio service (used one myself a couple years ago) and fun to use online drawing app with wacom support tbh.

That happens when you get a million users and suddenly have to find ways to keep the site up.
