I was just about to suggest doing some Loomis studies to strengthen your figures when I saw you did some Loomis at the bottom Keep on doing those and you'll see progress in the structure of your quick figures. Your more worked figures don't have this problem though, could be due to spending more time with the ref and observing. Keep it up!

My poses really do turn crappy if I'm not drawing something I can see, is the problem. However much I draw sticks and skeletons it just doesn't seem to help. I'm completely useless without references.

Some features studies-- I was trying some exaggeration and simplification. Don't think I managed it.
And then I decided to go wild and joined the CA.org facebook spinoff challenge '200 Pages of Madness'. 15 sec gestures KILL me.

... So, it's been ages, and I swear I've drawn since I last posted. I just forget to put my work here... anyway.
Some hand studies:
I usually sketch in pencil then transfer-- this time I thought I'd practice drawing straight in Photoshop with my tablet.
Work in progress: A character from my books, Saffira.
I hate the melting right arm-- must change it later when I dress her.

I got my first commission! Luckily, my customer isn't too picky, because commissions make me nervous. Most of my drawings still don't turn out.
The WIP so far: (with refs)
Any help on this one would be really appreciated!
