The Dinotopia TV miniseries is on Netflix Instant Play if anyone cares to watch it. Just thought I'd give it a mention.

And then God said, "Let us make man in our likeness and our image. Let us make him ridiculously hard to draw so that poor artists everywhere will have to spend 10,000+ hours failing repeatedly before they can begin to capture the form and likeness onto a two-dimensional surface." And there was man. And it was good. And artists everywhere lost their minds.

How is it, seriously? I knew about it, but doubted that it
could ever match the visuals provided by the man himself.

It's ok. The visuals are serviceable for a 2002 TV series.

There are some editing problems for sure, and some of the acting was a little hokey and weird. Mainly the military commander/pilot. Oonu - who I named Mr. Teleprompter with weird stilted dialog.

Katie Carr...well she just looks weird, so it was kinda hard buying into the two guys fighting over the girl. There really didn't feel to be any chemistry anyways. So I can go with girl with weirdly shaped head, if it felt like chemistry.

The two main characters were pretty much jerks through most of the story, so hard to even feel for them. One being less of a jerk than the other though.

The visuals were pretty good though. Color Palettes etc...dinos were pretty cool.

I'd probably watch it again for the visuals but yeah...it could very much use a better editor because some of the order of the story was like "umm...." specially towards the end of the show.

I would say avoid the 2007 animation like the plague.

I watched the very beginning where the plane crashes, the guy drowns, and they say what happens happens. No remorse, no shock, no emotion at all. At that point, I thought, "Okay, it's going to be one of these shows." Hard to swallow after seeing dramas like Breaking Bad, Walking Dead, and heck even Twin Peaks.

I kinda liked it... Guess I didn't watch it very critically though. But I'm usually happy as long as I get to seem some dinosaurs...
