I'm a director from Berlin, Germany, and currently in preproduction for a movie, which is a new take on thw Zombie-Genre. The movie will be the first one to have Zombies as protagnosist. As the audience needs to emotionally connect with the protagonists, I want to develop a new, more human look for Zombies, which enables them to communicate feelings. Well, my Zombies can talk, too...
Curious? I'm searching for a concept artist and/or illustrator to collaborate on the project and develop the look for the human zombie. Right now, there is no financiation yet, so I'm searching for someone who is passionate and in for the idea. Later in the project there will be payment opportunities, thou.
If you are interested please get back with some work examples, if I like your style I will send you more information about the project.
I'm totally excited to hear from you guys,
P.S. You can see my portfolio at www.ruschmeyer.org
Sympathetic intelligent zombies? Check out some of the ghouls from Fallout 3.
Thanks for your reply! If the title of the film comes back to your mind, please let me know!
Thanks for the links to the ghouls, the actually have some very interesting stories which makes them more likeable than the average Zombie. But concerning their looks I have to say that they look totally scary and non-human to me, I would go into a different direction!
Keep in touch,
Best regards, Simon
The Crow, right! Never thought of that one, what a great movie! He is undead for sure, but a Zombie?
Well, my Zombies are actually Humans dressing up like Zombies. Sounds silly? If someone is interested in collbaroting I would be happy to tell you more!
Fido was another one
Sounds pretty good, but as stated before, there are a few movies that takes this perspective. Some of the titles include Aaah! Zombies, Night of the Living Dorks, and a few others. Although I will admit the titles listed above are pretty bad.
You could also argue that AMC's The Walking Dead zombies are protagonists as they are the most likable characters on the show.
[QUOTE=SmallPoly;3505139]You won't be the first - it's actually been done before. I saw (part of) a movie like that a while back, but I'm blanking on the title. It was terrible. While you won't be the first, maybe you'll be the first to do it right.
How about Aah Zombies! aka Wasting Away (2007) "from the perspective of the brain munching monsters themselves."
Something like the ghouls from fallout.... only less decayed looking, but still relatively rotten. Like dirty looking gentleman missing an arm or something like that.
