    My sketchbook

Hi everyone. I am starting a sketchbook here and I hope to update it every week.

I am going to start with anatomy study, which is something everyone has been telling me to do. Used the anatomy thread in tips and tutorials section.

*Edit : Not the first one, that is for the thumbnail

Haha its dexter XD love that show. looks good just the eyes are a little wobbly, the thing about faces is that they only look right when all the forms relate to each other properly, if 1 small thing is off it throws off everything else.

    Nice work.

It seems to me that you are pushing contrast too high.

    Heep on drawing!

element: hmm, thanks for pointing out the issue.
latus: thanks. I know about the contrast issue, I tend to do that on my grayscale stuff. I will tone it down in my next work

Here's a WIP of batgirl pin-up. Will be colouring it.

BlackLightG, how is your pencil work? Post some of your traditional stuff as well
What i have come to see is that it goes hand in hand, improve your pencil and you will improve your digital as well.

Also, have a look at bridgman, loomis, hogarth, bammes, vilppu books etc. See which seem more to your taste and try doing studies after that.

    Keep posting!

    Batgirl colour

BlackDelphin ( are we related lol? ), I have not done any pencil work for atleast two years so I don't have anything that I can show. I started digital painting a 4 months back with a mouse and then I got a tablet. Will surely look into the anatomy books you have mentioned, I really need to study one of those. Thanks for stopping by!

I have coloured Batgirl. Will make a thread in the WIP section to get some critics on this. Also uploading the process.

Your constriction is not very good, your drawing it as if its a 2d image. You need to build it up from 3d shapes and understand the space it takes up.

Think of your page as a window into a real world.

A new digital painting. Used reference from artsyposes.com for this one. It took approximately 4 hrs to make.

Hey man, I'm really impressed with the way you rendered the clothing on that, but your anatomy is falling behind.

Make sure you get he sketch as accurate as possible before moving on.

Good job on getting that gun in perspective tho.. That's something I always mess up.

i think your drawing are pretty good, but painting side is not so much.

when painting light dark only focus on making things looks 3d. Im trying to image that object real and then see where it bugging me.

also stay away from lines when rendering 3d form.

not sure if this is any better thought

Not bad. I like the Dexter tribute. You seem very confident on a tablet.

This started as the wonder woman picture in post #19. Today I decided to make her look closer to the reference rather than like wonder woman
