starting to look good man !
when painting faces try to look for other colors than the warm colors , faces can also have blue in them of the reflected light of walls , the air , etc .

    keep it up

One thing I've noticed a couple times, and it seems to be more prevalent in this last study, is that you're using white as a highlight, that is something to stay away from using white and adding it on top of colours, kills all the saturation in that colour. Overall it just detracts from the piece. Keep studying, it'll take you far, and good luck.

    Thor

I tried not using plain white as the highlight and tried to saturate more, I think this is slightly better than recent pieces. BUT Now I notice I have not made the eyes sharp enough. But I'm not going to spend all day on one painting making it perfect so NEXT PIECE ACTIVATE!...

    Nanalew

Another painting from observation "Nanalew" check out her youtube channel its fantastic! Anyway yeah I spent more time than usual on this trying to get the colours right. QUESTION: Is it cheating if I trace the lines if I cant get proportions right? I feel like it is...

    Mr. Sideburns

Sorry it has been so long since I have posted, I have been practising but I didn't feel like posting anything really. So here is something I cooked up from my imagination. I am still improving so PLEASE GIVE ME TIPS ON IMPROVING. I really need to get better at colour and realism. This piece was originally black and white and painting over with a colour layer. I had to adjust the Hue and saturation to get it like this. Let me know what you think! :]

Keep it up! I'm going to agree with some of previous comments about needing more contrast, your painting's improving a lot though. Also, more observational studies!

    Painting board week 1

I've recently been doing more traditional painting and I've been using this canvas as like a practice board. Each week I'm going to fill the board then paint over it and start again. I would really like some feedback on how to improve! And let me know what you think! I was working from observation on all of the paintings.

    Practice board week 2.

Feedback is very appreciated! Sorry about the photo quality. From what I can already see, I HAVE TO PAINT BIGGER.

    Digital work

So I started using grids. I have never used them because I always thought of it as cheating, but they are really useful and I'm not using them all the time. Anyway, here are a couple of pieces that I started using grids

Nice stuff. I think color excursion is right here focus a little more on the accuracy of your forms and just worry about black and white.

You seem to have a very good sense of colors and values. I'd say before you start trying to really render people however, practice human anatomy by sketching it without color, once you understand that, your humans will look more believable. Hope that helps!
