    RobotRabbit's sketchbook

I've been most unproductive for the past two years (I practiced a lot, but I haven't finished anything). I'm currently 18 and spent most of my younger years as an "anime artist" who was told to never use references (d'oh). I feel I am extraordinarily untalented and have put in a lot of time and effort for little results. I've been discouraged for years, but could never let myself give up.

I sketch traditionally and don't often scan them, so I'm just going to upload the more recent work I've got on my computer for now.

The painting is still a WIP.

Any suggestions are very much appreciated. Thank-you!

Not bad, not bad at all. I especially like the first one. The only problem I have is that the drawings look a tad stiff and unnatural. Have you studied gesture work by any chance? Might help you quite a bit.

    I definitely hear you.
I have done it, but I should probably do it more. I am about to sign up for a local art group that offers life drawing courses (which were never available to me until now), so I think that will help too. Thanks. ^^

No problem, I find that gesture work really helps getting rid of the stiff feelings in art. You steer the lines and let them flow, like a river... just gotta learn to direct that flow to where you need it to be... er something like that anyways.
