Wow, that looks like fun! Very nice video, were you hired as a videographer to document the trip, or was this just for fun?

I was sketching as well. I shot some videos while waiting for my watercolour to dry or when I lost concentration.

Pen and watercolour never gets old. Great stuff.

And then God said, "Let us make man in our likeness and our image. Let us make him ridiculously hard to draw so that poor artists everywhere will have to spend 10,000+ hours failing repeatedly before they can begin to capture the form and likeness onto a two-dimensional surface." And there was man. And it was good. And artists everywhere lost their minds.

Sketch crawls are the best. Public field sketching is usually pretty awkward when your alone. But when you have a group with you it's always better. Other artists point out the cherry spots with natural composition and comfortable viewing. Most importantly you don't get that weird attention that can throw you off.

Yeah. It's true. I sometimes go sketching in the public alone and it often feels awkward. Unfortunately no people around that would be dedicated to this type of stuff :/

Thank you very much for posting. I really love watching stuff like this. I have always had a tough time sketching and painting (painting only digital and mostly on a DS because people think you are playing a game and tend to leave you alone) in urban areas. It has thrown me so much in the past that I tend to just sketch and paint landscapes in the country or wilds. I would love to drum up enough courage to be able to just sketch and paint on the fly in urban areas.

I'll be quick to point out I am not some loner weirdo. I don't even look particularly weird (although the home made paper mache phallus hat I made may possibly give out the wrong signs *joke*). I had a bad experience with some dum-fuck council estate dole-dossing arse that accused me of being a pedophile because he thought I was taking pictures of his daughter, who was playing in a fountain along with a few other kids. I was painting quick figures on my DS. The light was very low and awesome, and I was doing little thumbnail jesture/light sketches. Next thing I have a ranting dad in my face, a small crowd of onlookers, and eventually a copper! I guess the vid' shows there's strength and (more importantly) normality to be found in numbers.

After my little experience, I tend to sketch/paint in fields, woods, or hills. At least that way I can see wankers coming from some distance away!

But yeah, sorry to digress. I really enjoyed watching this. More, please.
