Hi guys, I'm an architecure student from Romania. I'm starting this sketchbook hoping to better commit to improving my skills. It's been almost a year since I descovered this wanderful forum, and struggled to get involved as much as possible, but the lack of time and other circumstances kept me away from what I found to be one of the best ways to improve -- working with a clear objective in mind and a time limit -- the weekly chalanges.(yeah, I'm not the fastest one around)
While I came to like architecture I know that I always loved and dreamed to become a concept/cg artist and now more than ever I want to fight for it.
I really hope that I'll be able to commit myself to this and keep updating it as often as possible, there's a lot to be done.
Here is some of the work I've been able to do this in this last year:
some PS line drawing practice and some tries at concepting some characters
It's late night, I tried to finish for this week's C.O.W. but I took the wrong route starting from black and white and adding color later becouse as it turns out that is not as easy as I heard it was said to be.
Anyways here's what I've done so far, maybe I'll finish it sometimes when I'm rested.
Tried the variants aproach for the first time I think and it proved to be very useful Attachment 1517444
Then researched a little about gorilla and ape movement and rapidly sketched some poses Attachment 1517445
Decided to go for the last one and searched a POV that would help accentuate the iminent danger that the pose previewed Attachment 1517446
Sort of content with the result though I'm dissapointed that I wasted too much time and messed up with the colors
Yesterday I discovered the "Crimson Daggers" forum and joined it too.
It reminded me of some things that I planned to do long ago but never got to putting into action.
So with my Deathlines setteled, I strarted doing studies, and for a while I plan to do a lot from reference.
The thing is that while I know it to be usefull I always get the feeling that studying from refference is kind of a waste of time so I limit how much time I spent on them.
