    Djoze does a sketchbook

    Hello!

I'm kinda new here, took me a while to start a thread, hopefully I can keep at it

Anyways, since this is the sketchbook section I figured I'd post my doodles and practice pieces here, any C&C is welcome

First try to keep your edges sharper. Keep it up.

Thanks, edges (along with colors, landscapes, faces and females) are one of my bigger fail points, atleast digitally.

Anyways, did another one, this time a bit more work went into it

Here's another one, this time I made the basic idea sketch and perspective setup in Sketch-up before painting over it in PS, still has some issues I think but it was quite fun

Here's another one, this time without any 3d model stuff, just some brushes and a morning of messing around

Here's a quick one, can't really do colours right now for some reason, so B&W will have to do I guess, any thoughts ?

No critiques really from me because I don't do digital work yet...but I can tell that sharp edges are an issue for you. Maybe show some pencil work? Process steps? (tell the brush settings so people can guide you with what to use?) Anatomy?

    Thanks for the reply

As for the stuff you mentioned, I did quite a bit of pen/pencil stuff before the tablet, and continued to do so, but most of it is random sketches and doodles, not much focused practice.
As far as brushes go, I mostly use the default brushes and some custom ones for texture work or clouds and the such. I hardly ever paint with full opacity so that might be it, but it's somehow too strange for me to do that (allthough I've been getting closer to the 90% point lately).

Anyways, I'll upload some scans later on, need to properly wake up first ^^

    Edit:

Okay, here's some of the scans, some of the are slightly distorted because of the scanning but the damage isn't too great luckily

Hey man, don't start, but don't forget anatomy studies are important as well. Very important, you don't want to be faking your way through this. Keep working ^_^
