Teen Challenge 170: Lava Golem
This weeks topic was suggested by blazingdimensions, woo!
This week's topic is Lava Golem. A golem is a being created by giving inanimate matter.
This week your task is to design a golem based around lava (and rock, if so inclined).
This weeks focus is color palette. Use lava as your inspiration and create a good color palette for your piece!
The deadline is Sunday 8th of July, 23:59 GMT
Finals thread up!
Forrest_I - Nice idea, interested in how it develops. I'd say the foreground could be more interesting, and remember to add something for scale, like a tiny figure standing next to him, you know. Keep going.
Damn the deadlines tomorrow...?
Okay I'm a little new to this stuff, but I really would like to participate in the next one of the "teen challenge"s
I've figured out enough... but still this is my first time.
I turn 20 in December and I really want to do this. My Summer course just got out and I've re set up my desk for my favorite hobby.
Sorry if this post is off topic, but I'll just wait for #171 to be announced then?
Will that get announced on Monday?
Thanks a bunch in advanced!
Heya Sporus! You can obviously wait til monday/tuesday to participate in next weeks challenge, or try to finish this one (you've got 23 hours left!)
If you've got any other questions feel free to ask here or send me a PM
gahh, it is TOO hot today... my hand keeps slipping with sweat on my tablet...
....*pant* *catch breath*
here's a WIP started earlier today. If I can finish I'll post, but I do understand the deadline.
I think I made mine too... idk. I always do this with trying to finish a piece I make it too "complicated" or too ambitious for my skill level... I've never truly finished any artwork
To the other artists, good luck and nice work.
@Kamiru - nice effect on the bottom here . how do you do that? motion blur and then skew/distort?
PS - What are those snazzy filters everyone plops on their paintings at the end? it makes it look so conceptarty and professional lol. not stuff in this thread but yknow.. like everywhere. Is it sharpen? or sharpen more? (hope this doesn't sound belligerent I'm really just curious)
