    Critiques are appreciated!

Been quite a long since I last posted but I thought I'd start posting on this website again. Comments and crit welcome!

The following are my most recent digital paint studies. I have not done a lot of digital painting (and I have only been seriously painting traditionally for about a year), so I thought I would focus on improving this skill over the summer.

It's been a while since i've posted anything but I thought it was time to get back on concept art and actually post regularly. I'm mostly a sketcher as for the longest time painting was too daunting but I've started to kick myself into gear and get on the painting train.

First up are a few quick portraits, both are from imagination.

Next up a series of hand studies. I was trying to do a series of 100 but Im not quite finished yet, here are a few of the ones I think show the most improvement.

And lastly, another field I need to improve on is working with environments. Here is a 3hr photo study I did this morning.

    C&C appreciated

@domenix: Thanks! Colour has always been something I've struggled with so it helps to hear that

Started to practice interior environment painting. Still very much wip as I'm only about an hour into it.

Another star wars study from today! I've been trying to force myself to render my images a little more as I feel I always fall short of creating a "finished" image.

Hour long study from this morning. I just noticed now she looks like she has a hunch-back...oh well.

And this was a full body painting study from a few days ago. I have to admit that I gave up on this one. The colours are really bugging me and I just couldn't seem to get them right. I feel that the piece is a little desaturated especially in the shadows.

    Baguette here, excusez mon anglais.
The star wars fan art portrait is cool because of constrast, shape, cool lightning
I think you should contrast more and study the light to do better art

Remember that what a colour looks like depends on the colours around it. Same goes for values as well, so if you're doing a study be sure do include at least a suggestion of the background Check this website out.

Another good thing to do is to flip your image periodically, or hold it up to a mirror if using traditional media to get a fresh view and see if you're skewing things. This is one of the issues you are having with the image in post 8.
