Char1. Knees are way too low, torso stretched and head too small. Feet are not in perspective and wrong shape. Overall looks flat and deformed.

Char2. Knees too low, torso stretched out and head too small. Feet are not in perspective and wrong shape. The gun is out of perspective and looks glued on. The hand holding the skateboard is floating above it and is the wrong shape. Overall looks flat.

Char3. Knees too low, torso out of proportion. Feet are not in perspective and wrong shape. [Our] left side of the chest is too flat. The hands are the wrong shape. The hammer is out of perspective. The upper arms are the wrong shape and don't intersect with the torso very well. Overall comes across very flat.

The looks flat problem usually comes from lack of understanding of anatomy.

First point of call is this book:

Andrew Lomis: Figure Drawing for All Its Worth

    Get it and study it.

Another thing you can do is to draw from life. Go to a local cafe shop and sit for hours drinking coffee and drawing people.

Do that for 2 or 3 months and everything's gonna be awesome

Depends. If you're uploading versions of the image above then upload them here. If you have other work make yourself a sketchbook in a sketchbook area. Portfolio reviews are really for any proper protfolios you have.

Are these characters supposed to be children themselves, or is the "children of apocalypse" just some sort of figure of speech?
