Panda: Hehehe I'll try to tighten up more... the samurai-thing was just me slopping colors and a new brush around, though. But I see your point... my speedpaints could probably be cleaner as well.

Here is step two of the creaturedesign.. color and bodyvariations over the third thumbnail:

I'd like to see some rough sketches of the Waterlope in action. Like how it moves etc. The lope obviously has several ways of making its way forward.

    Looking good

    But I'm le tired...

I love this one, the mood in it is excellent.

    some cnc,
I find your colour work pretty tame.
Imo, you need to batch some more colour onto your pallette.
More colours makes your work more dynamic and appealing.

    cool creature designs indeed.

    cheers

    Hi

This time I just gonna write something cause I just want to fill some space eh? Anyway I know they're just colour roughs but they seems to only have two maybe three values and shading by using black or some variation within the same colour...try to darken using a dark setting of the complimentary colour instead. Maybe by using a low opacity and going over until the shade gets right or starting by creating the pallette you want to use. I think it would make the colours more interesting etc. anyway it's just me rambling about stuff I just started to explore as usual hehe . Well I'm off to bed so goodnight

good looking critters, I take it you're trying to get a mixture of fish and antelope colour schemes, maybe some stripes? Dapples are more of a young animal thing in herbivores.

really like the look of the big noirish tree, great mood and the croquis sketches are pretty damn good.

Great job on the waterlopes. i think the first color scheme works best for me. The third is pretty decent too. I dunno about the second, but green+purple never works for me. I also think the pose and the form on #2 don't work quite as well as the others.

Lunch: Not a bad idea! I just did what was in the brief for the activity, but yeah.. that's good practice! I'll have some for the next update!

    Fellah: Thanks, bro!

Petter: Hey, man! Good to see you in here! Thanks for the cnc! I'll try to be more daring with my colors.

Mindflaw: Hey.. I'm grateful for all the crits I get! So thanks for your thoughts! And you're absolutely right, I just went for a darker shade of the color I was using for those.. When I get to doing the finished design, I'll be taking more care with the colors (even though that's no excuse for not doing it in the thumbnails..hehe).

young paddy1: Hey, man! Thanks for the insight.. I didn't really ref the marking of their fur... hadn't occured to me..hehe... But I wanted them to be fanciful, but I'll definately keep it in mind for the finished product!

Max: Yeah... I know I don't vibe with the second one either... But heck... the deadline for the activity was coming up..hehe.. Thanks for your thoughts! I'll keep 'em in mind for the final!

Couple of sketchbookpages... not too happy about 'em, but you can't win 'em all...hehe... And not every page in a sketchbook is gonna look good.. right?
The digital one is a WIP, but I thought I'd post it and get you guys' thoughts on it.
