Arriving Somewhere But Not Here (07-03)
My name is Héloïse, I'm 24 and I live near Montreal, in french part of Canada. I want to show you little things I enjoy doing with my tablet and photoshop. I'm mostly drawing/painting for my pleasure and I really have no pretention about becoming professionnal or something (well I don't say I won't do it if I have the opportunity one day though)
I just want to keep doing this stuff because it brings a lot of joy in my life.
I hope you will enjoy this place and visit me sometimes.
Feel free to leave a little comment if you like my work ^_^
(sorry for my english :p)

You have a strong sense of color and composition for environments. Doing some anatomy studies would definitely help your characters, but otherwise good job.
Toujours bien de voir quelqu'un de Montréal. Continues comme ça.
A creative artist works on his next composition because he is not satisfied with his previous one. When he loses a critical attitude toward his own work, he ceases to be an artist. - Dmitri Shostakovich

Thank you and Tea of Doom ^_^
I know I need to practice a lot more my anatomy, I still have difficulties to draw dynamic poses :s My favorite thing so far is doing landscapes, which doesn't really help when I come to draw people.
But I really want to improve myself
Anyway, new things I recently did: a study for a personnal project and a portrait .
Thank you for your interest.

Welcome to CA!
The environments are really really good!
Your figures are a little stiff and the lighting looks somewhat unnatural.
Also, try not to go too light with the values if you're gonna colorize later.
Stay in the medium range of values and add extreme highlights and shadows later. Otherwise contrast is gonna be an issue and the colors end up looking pretty sterile. The colors on the last portrait are gorgeous! I'm guessing you painted that straight to color
Keep up the good work!

Your colors and environments are magnificent, but I agree with many of the previous posts regarding gesture, anatomy, etc.

The environments are really neat. They have a very magical feel to them. Exotic, but still inviting.
I agree with others that the main weakness is just the anatomy / gesture of some of the figures. That's not anything that can't be remedied with a bit of time and practice! Looking forward to seeing more from your SB... Keep up the good work.
