Sketchbook of a trying amateur artist

Hey ConceptArt, I'm a 19 year old beginner self-taught artist in the UK, who is studying computer science. I enjoy drawing, but am not very good at motivating myself to do it, so hopefully this should get me making more art.

To start my sketchbook, here is a WIP painting of a female torso. I struggle with posing my figures, so I'm looking at different body parts in isolation.

Hey, George. That's a pretty damn good torso for a WIP if you ask me. You pretty much seem to have a good grasp at lighting values.

As for poses, one thing you can probably do is invest in one of these:

They're a superior alternative to those wooden drawing mannequins. I'm gonna get my own set in just a few days in the mail, so you can shop around like I did and find a dirt-cheap one or if you want a brand new one, they're like around 22 dollars each.

Anyway, hope you get your motivation soon enough cause I'm impressed with your torso drawing so far.

Thanks for the kind words, Quetzalcoatl. I'm pretty broke at the moment, so those aren't much of an option for me at the moment; these were copied from an anatomy book.

Here's some more sketches, and another WIP.

I decided to just finish the woman's face as a speedpaint. I originally had an idea that there would be cables attatched to her head, but they simply looked as if they were stuck on top separately rather than part of the image.
