    I was thinking about it cumquat, reminds me very much of the Deku tree and the Kokiri children of Zelda.

    Anyway update:

    Colours have always been a problem for me but I think this might actually be getting somewhere

    Tchuck Yeah you're right, he look really off-balance after a staring session! And yes, he's supposed to be slouched!


    Anyways heres a WIP, wanted to get a dramatic angle of him opening one of the doors to a hall. Still experimenting with lightning and such.

    An update + some feedback on other works!

    nevreme: I like your lighting. You might want to think about making your design more focussed around keys.

    Bjulvar: Nice composition & symbols. He seems to have no neck. Is that part of his armor design? It kind of affects his pose (makes it less powerfull imo)

    LA-Fairy: Nice dress design. Overall I think you can tone down on the saturation

    idiot monarch: Very good character, I'm looking forward to the end result!

    Tchuck: I like the eyes and the colors. The whole piece seems a bit too dark for me. It's probably a deliberate choice you've made, but a little bit of clarity on his background or parts of his design might do the piece good!

    Risaki-chan: Nice design on the keyhole in the chest. The textures in the bg don't quite match with the character. They're too sharp. Maybe blur them and make them a bit irregular?

    Cumquat: Very nice overall design no crits from me! (apart from the fact that I also want to see a bg!)

    Gamma Grey: Really cool design. Are the horns on his head the keys?

    Einen: Love this design! Can't wait to see the final. (please touch up the sword, it looks too flat now )

    I think I'll make the keys more ethereal than physical. They seem to distract from the image right now rather than enhance it.

    I made a basic form in 3d, so i can have a nice perspective and proportions for the mechanical stuff.
    Im going for a kinda steam, cyber punk style, where the keys are mentally controlled and give the keymaster the power of the elements.
    I guess i have the weekend to finish this.

    hey this is my final front view lineart, I'm not sure if I'm going with this one for the final illustration or if I make a whole new one, I might not make it in time =/. This lineart took me soooo long to do since I had to design and do research for each mask =(( but I think it paid off for the details =)

    I liked him bald in my sketch but now I think it looks a little strange, not sure. Need to work on his face so he doesn't look so creepy.

    Update, some real nice stuff from everyone. Decided to change how I was going with the gold chain. It wraps around his arm when he's not pulling out a key. When he is it sort of unhooks from his arm. The keys are stored inside of him and I'll have him pulling out one of the keys to unlock a door (water or fire, haven't really decided).

    Hi all. Nice entries so far!

    I decided to make the Keymaster a small fragile girl, encumbered by the heavy ornate dresses associated with the high position, kinda representing the burden of the responsibility, and that "4ever alone" vibe of the position.
    I haven't drawn children before, so that was a struggle for me, with their freaky proportions and body fat. So here is where it is now, still a lot of detailing to go and of course, the keys and the chain will be added, since they should be the focus after all!

    This is as far as I am going with this weeks chow. Great work so far, look forward to seeing the finals.

    My Keymaster is a female knight with golden plaited hair, symbolic of the chains and a seven pronged headdress with each spike being the key to each realm.

    Risaki-chan I really like your concept and character design.

    finished B+W i tried drawing the birdcage but no matter how hard i tried i couldnt do it :/ oh well, its now a bird perch. The keys themselves are not a prominant feature, this is because they only work when the appropriate bird is close by, so the birds are the more important things. The birds themselves are not brilliantly drawn but i needed to complete the sketch so i could spend tomorrow colouring
    if anyone could give me some advise i would greatly appreciate it

    Hmm, I think I may be done with the character itself. Had a lot of trouble with the chains and keys for some reason. Don't really know how else to improve the character, so I'd love to hear some feedback.
