    Newbie? :)

    Here I am

This is my first post on this forum, and I do it on tiptoe, because frequented by great artists, I follow along.

I am an illustrator and comic artist and for the past 4 years he has dedicated himself to sculpture of polymer clay.

In this post I will show my best work, hoping they get ruthless criticism, because I want to get better and better!
For the rest of my work you can take a look at my site

    THANKS

These are fun! I think the biggest criticism is also the biggest strength. You hold back on detail. Aside from the ear rings, the details are soft, but that is also what gives it the welcoming friendly feel. I wouldn't change things. If you go too far with detail, you will lose the childlike whimsy that make these so accessable to people. The strength is the clean lines and way you capture a likeness without overthinking every toolmark.

www.findphil.com for a look at my older stuff

http://velikan.tumblr.com/ for the latest up-to-the-minute stuff, and process nonsense
And finally, http://www.here-there-be-monsters.net/ is the place to be if you want to buy some of my work that has been kitted by the talented hand of Dave.

As I'm not that good with english, I'll just second Philofmars's words - he just said it better than I could You have the rare talent of capturing the likeness and essence of a character with simple lines! Keep them up, they are very cool.

Those door knocker ear rings are a great idea. Cheshire Cat is probably my favourite but you've got so many other cool pieces.

    hi all!

Here is my biggest job ever!

Carl's house (from the movie pixar, UP) 100% handmade, in Polymer clay.

The house is about 20 cm high, and the base is 15 X 13 cm. Each axis of the house, every tile, every window, was first modeled and mounted, each axle has its veins ... Crush to pieces, was assembled at the end of cooking.

This work took 50 hours of modeling, and has been for me, a job completely INSANE.

    Newbie? :)

Hey dude, love your cartoon style sculpts! All of them
That house must have taken ages, you baked all the tiles and beams and stuff seperately?
Looks beautiful though and like Rufus2000 said, would be awesome with tiny balloons with helium on top

For a crit, I feel the hulk could use some more realistic muscle anatomy, even if you want to keep it cartoony.
To me he looks kind of rushed, as if you weren't really in to it. For example the clenched fist: the fingers could do with some more anatomical structure.
You did put that in the toes, so that's why I think you may have rushed it. Anyway, I really love all the rest of your stuff! Keep going great and keep posting!

    Thank you very much

Well, yes, in fact, the anatomy of the Hulk is pretty rough, I wanted to make a more realistic test, but obviously I'm not ready for this kind of style.

I really like the character grotesque or funny, I express myself better with them.
Unfortunately, here in Italy, there are no courses in modeling ... I'm serious. I would like to learn how to make action figures, but the only courses I've found, are out of my country.

It 's very sad this thing ... I have to be satisfied with how-to videos from youtube!

    Thank you again!

Nice! Its seems to me you have a really good ability at capturing the defining characteristics of the character you're creating. You thought about creating some of your own characters?

Yeah really don't think that you need to do any courses dude. Your work speaks volumes of your considerable skills. Just keep doing it, just keep pushing your own boundaries.

Love your work and yes I agree with shrunkendesigner, you should look at developing your own characters. Look to your own local/ancestral folklore maybe?

Well yes, for now I'm doing a little 'practice ... I do not feel ready yet for any of my pieces. But I miss a little

Surely they are more inclined to fantasy art ... I'll start with that. ^^

My homeland has ancient traditions, I live on an island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. It 's the most ancient land of Italy, and boasts ancient traditions ... it is certainly a good idea to take a cue from here.

Great stuff man! And they are excellent.

Just be careful about things like the logo from Lord of Rings........... Warner brothers get very twitchy about that.
Call them: creations inspired by LOTR and you will be fine.

And thanks for the advice, I deleted the logo ... in fact, I had not thought of that. Next time I'll be more careful ^ ^
