    Teen Challenge 167: Frozen

    Teen Challenge 167: Frozen

    Topic
This week's topic is Frozen. I'm leaving it open this week guys, so paint whatever you want as long as I can understand how it relates to the topic

    Focus
This weeks focus is colour temperature. Certain colours appear warmer (yellows and reds typically) while others are cooler (blues and purples). By carefully choosing how you use colours of different temperatures, it is possible to show physical temperatures.

    Deadline
The deadline is Sunday 17th of June, 23:59 GMT

Throwing this up quickly before i dash off to work. Bout time I started entering these again :')

First wip shot; idea is he's sucking the heat out of her, freezing her from the inside out. Should be more obvious with the colours; was a bit unsure about uploading this up at this stage, considering it looks like a mills and boon cover right now :/

Thats a nice drawing so far, Im looking forward to seeing how it turns out with the theme. Here's a WIP for mine, the story is, a search for a missing comrade turns up tragic during a severe winter storm.

Mine ended up as a movie poster. The snow cat vehicle looks flat so I need to fix that

@scrt_AgentMan: Liking how this one is going real nice composition and tonal range.
@penciltipred: I like the tones in his skin and the way you're going with the thick linework instead of totally painted, it's a nice mix you might wanna smooth out his skin though, all the little brushstrokes are looking a little messy and distracting - try using bigger brushes as much as you possibly can, especially when blending. Gotta avoid scribbling the strokes in :')

Current wip shot, hopefully it's reading a little better with the theme now :]

Just one particular thing I'm noticing Jessibelle, I get that it's a cold scene and that extremities go red in the cold, but I get the feeling that their hands, ears, noses etc are a little too red, you know? To the point where it stands out as odd, especially with the blue guy. Hope you don't mind me saying

@Barefoot: No, you're completely right Although I was using Julie Dillon's painting method , so the overlay layer was coming through quite strongly at the stage above, but I've toned it down quite a bit for the final (in the final's thread.) Thankyou anyway though!

    Oh, I see
That's an interesting way of painting, it adds a certain something doesn't it?

Here's what I've got, I'm thinking of those classic evil villains, a real Dr. Nefarious type.
I really hate his midriff though (the green circled bit in the small picture), It just looks really crap to me... Close to finished though.
