Things to do in Austin Texas

    Hey guys,

I'm going to be visiting Austin next week on Wed and Thurs.

Since it's a big game dev city, I thought maybe someone here could recommend art and/or game industry related things to do while I'm in town?

Or if anyone just wants to grab a beer or something, let me know.

    Cheers and thanks in advance

Huh didn't know Texas was very big on game design or art related to it.
Randomly knew it's where you move to if you want to be a voice actor, never knew games though.

If your going through down town there's a park and if you keep walkin around there will be an Italian Section. GOOD EATS!!!! Then there's a little Irish Pub in the midst of this area with live music and AWSOME atmosphere.

Awesome, thanks man. I love Italian food, but tbh, if I'm going all the way out there, I'm gonna be eating giant piles of Texas barbecue!

Texas as a whole, not so much (just a couple studios in Dallas and Houston). But Austin in particular is huge on game dev; lots of high profile studios there.
The top game dev cities in N. America are SF, LA, Seattle, Austin, and Toronto. Though SF is not necessarily all AAA type stuff -a lot of mobile/social/casual developers there. And Seattle is apparently not quite as big on game dev as it once was.

Great, thanks! The timing works out and everything, I'll definitely look into this.
