A little background:
So, a certain group of people kidnap a teenage gamer that is an ace at shooter games. In the past they kidnapped spartan kids as they were considered the elite, heh. In later centuries they kidnapped kids with similar skills.
They proceed to dress the teenager with the torch carrying helmet device that holds a flame feeding arm that also measures temperature in case the torch's flame begins to waver and dim.
The helmet also has 4 specialized cameras that transmit the feedback straight into the teenager's brain- should be helpful if any torch seeking attacker would try to sneak from behind.
That's about it. Also the kid is brainwashed to believe that his own life is connected to the brightness of the flame, so here we go. When the torch dims, so dims the life of the teenager.
I had a lot of fun with this!
Not really happy with the result but it's only my first entry
This guardian protects the olimpic flame not from people or creatures but from loneliness and despair between the oplimpics.
This ancient and elemental guardian is the only one in the entire universe that can speak the languaje of fire, thus being the only one who can make company to the flame, telling her histories and explaining the true reason of her existance.
He isn't there all day with the flame, but he can´t let the flame alone more than two or three days. He also is the one in charge to find the kind of branches and wood that this special flames likes. Human eye can't detect the guardian, but some people and most creatures can feel his presence. Some people talks about him as the god of fire, but he can't stand that...he is just the guardian of the flame...nothing more, nothing less. He exists before the universe, but he is not a god.
Only the one holding the key can get near without being burned.
The guardian stands vigil over the olympic fire, but every four years it is successfully stolen from him. The chase that follows each theft is a sight to behold.
My character was once an olympic gamer... every 4 years the olympic games are held with a secret purpose to the gods, it is to see who is the mighty warrior on earth and choose him to be the carrier of the olympic flame...the fire of the souls on earth. Task with a big and unavoidable burden he wanders earth carrying with him the flame inside his body that slowly but demently burns his skin to a red level, and dements him until another chosen one appears, 4 years after...he carries some relics from the gods to help him on his demand: hermes shoes, alows him to escape anyone...cloack made from aged golden fleece... protect him from most harm...and zeus staff, a weapon that controls the flame in his body, using his power whenever necessary...the same staff is used to pass the flame to the next carrier...and the time...is coming...
a little reference (in his shorts) is made to my country hehe good work everybody
my entry for the guardian of the Olympic flame
i though of im as more spirit like and ghostly
i imagined the the rings expand and into large circle blades and used for defense
Located in a far-off, remote frigid region of the globe, the Great Guardian keeps the Olympic flame burning eternally. Only when the true flame bearer approaches is anyone allowed to partake of the pure blue flame that burns in the Guardian's heart. All others receive the red and yellow flames of the Guardian's hair, shoulders, knees and staff.
EDIT: For some reason, I can't seem to get the images to appear in the post using the upload manager, either in PNG or JPG format. The files appear to be well within the size limitations, but they don't appear in Preview or final post, and don't exist when I edit the post to try and re-upload.
