Well, looking around for ways to render metalic surfaces might be worth your while.

The chainmail doesn't do it for me, frankly. You got a tablet now, I suggest you experiment for a while with custom brushes, it's fun and really pays off.

Like the design - I can so imagine it on a person.

    Cheers!

    Thanks for the response.

I see the art that's done in this web (yours and other artists) and I realize I'm far behind on level and skill, so this tips are really useful, thanks.

I'll research on the suggestion's you made me, again thanks.

I totally agree on the "practice on how to render surface" suggestion but completely against the "use custom brushes" tip. The problem is that if you don't know to PERFECTION how brushes work you'll never learn how to use a custom brush properly. My thought is to start with round normal brush and learn how it works under your hands, when you got that to 100% then you can start making your own custom brushes or download something already done to speed up your work (that's what a custom brush do, nothing more than this).

Anyway this armor looks very flat, you need some perspective on it.

I really like the overall armour design, but the presentation needs a little more work as mentioned.
