    Bowandbrush┤s sketchbook

    Name: 3.jpg
Views: 793
Size: 118.1 KB

I'm currently on my second year studying information design at my university.
It's great, but I feel I need more training not just from the school but need to do a lot of anatomy, perspective and just real life studies. I have tried several times but get so easily distracted by other things like friends, family, school and playing video games, just life in general

Well it┤s soon summer and there┤s no school for about 3 months. I feel like this is a great opportunity for me to get into the right mindset, getting a habit of drawing every single day and then continue with that as schools starts again.

I really want to get better and feel like I'm more in control over my drawings and paintings. I hope this sketchbook will help me push to work harder.

your animals looks amazing! especially that bumblebee, those wings!
the colors in the male face study look great too

I'd say more work needs to be done with humans in terms of anatomy of the face/forms found in the face as it has a very airbrush-y quality which is probably because you're unsure where forms are supposed to be

I'm not quite sure if the snake scales is a texture that you overlayed or not but it kind of looks like that and I think that it detracts from the snakes because it just doesn't look natural, patience is worth it to do each scale for the overall impact

    keep it up!

Thanks! Yeah it's a texture of scales and I agree the perspective of the scales doesnt really match the snakes. I will study some more anatomy, thank you for your reply!

It's very nice to see your dedication, lots of studies here. I think you can benefit a bit more by making studies of less variety; Studying one body part at a time for example might be a bit more beneficial. Looking forward to seeing your portraits, solid work on the Athena statue as well.

That bat and bubble bee are dope! Loving it, good job. As some one mentioned before, studying the human form in pieces will be your best course of action. There are a ton of amazing books out there on anatomy. Just pick one and work your way on through. Some of your figures already have a nice shape to them but imagine what they will look like after a bit of anatomy study. Also good job on that last study, keep it up!

Your colors look pretty solid man, try pencils with varying hardness and see what happens (= If you feel like.

There's a lot of improvement in the last posts! Your colors are vibrant and blend nicely. I especially like the apple study, I should do one of those as well

I see you're doing torso studies, it helps sometimes to draw from photos just that body part you want. I find it makes it easier to draw quick gestures of limbs/torso or Neck separately.
