    CROSSOVER- E.O.W. Round #190/ I.D.W. Round #206- Orbital Refinery

    CROSSOVER- E.O.W. Round #190/ I.D.W. Round #206- Orbital Refinery
    CROSSOVER- E.O.W Round #190 / I.D.W. Round #206

    TOPIC = Orbital Refinery

This week we are having a weekly crossover with Industrial Design of the Week! Both weeklies have the same topic, however the approach will be different. Because of this, taking a visit to both threads will be sure to provide inspiration.

    I.D.W. Thread

    Brief:

The basic concept: There is a materials refinery which is orbiting a planet as it sources its material. What planet and what material being processed is completely open.

    E.O.W.
Inside or outside view is up to you.

    I.D.W.
    Design the refinery.

As Vulgar' is currently out of reach of the internet, I will be hosting until he gets back. Apologies in advance for any mistakes!

    - Post your finals in this thread, I'll take care of the poll.

Two quick questions- Is there usually a finals thread or do you tend to post the finals in the wips thread? In either case, around what time does the acceptance of finals cut off?

No, we post our finals in the wips thread. Vulgar creates a poll thread within a day after the deadline. So he allows the pieces to come before he puts up the poll.

Does the design/illustration have to be orbiting in space or can it be on land...?

I can't believe that IDW is actually older than EOW. Or is it just because EOW had more two-week rounds? :)

I'm guessing by the title and description that it has to be orbiting a planet, otherwise it's just a refinery.

L4xord: The refinery is orbiting in space.

Trespasser: EOW has 2 week rounds (it used to be 1 week I believe) and IDW is usually a 1 week deal.

Thanks for the info. I've scrapped the design I had in my head (after seeing other peoples WIPs. Time for some inspiration.
