The CDW offers a unique opportunity to gain insight and tips into the
world of concept design. These exclusive events are intensive workshops
featuring some of the industry's most prominent concept artists. Industry
professionals and students alike will have the opportunity to learn what
it takes to become a successful concept designer and will hone and
develop industry specific techniques that are used in a day to day
Featuring a selection of some of the best creative talent both locally,
interstate and overseas, these workshops have something exciting
and valuable to offer everyone involved!
2012 is the year of new opportunities. Building upon the sold out success
of Adelaide 2011 and Melbourne earlier this year, new workshops
are being launched in Sydney NSW and Wellington NZ.
Keep your eyes peeled for the new workshops, new downloads (in depth
tutorials by some of the best creative talent) and other information.

In partnership with WETA Workshop, we have three world class
concept designer's heading up the Wellington Workshop:
GREG BROADMORE has worked for over ten years as an illustrator, writer and
conceptual designer for Weta Workshop, designing for many motion
pictures such as King Kong and District 9 where he was the lead designer
and oversaw production design of the films many props and costumes.
Through Weta Workshop, he is the creator and designer of Dr. Grordbort's
world of Rayguns and contraptions which has resulted in a diverse line of art
piece collectibles, limited edition prints and a world touring exhibition. Greg
has also written and illustrated several books such as Victory, Dr Grordbort's
Contrapulatronic Dingus Directory and the soon to be released, Triumph.
BEN MAURO is concept designer working for the film industry in Wellington,
New Zealand. He is currently employed at Weta Workshop and is working on
loads of cool movies including, The Hobbit: There and Back Again, The Hobbit:
An Unexpected Journey and Elysium among many others. Some of Ben’s
previous clients include: EUROPACORP, Universal Pictures, Vishwa Robotics,
Sony Pictures Animation, Insomniac Games, Lucasfilm and Design Studio Press.
AARON BECK is a curently Senior Concept Artist at Weta Workshop in Wellington,
New Zealand. He is working on loads of cool movies including Mad Max:Fury Road
and Elysium among many others. Aaron has previously worked on films such as
Avatar and District 9. Some of Aaron’s other clients include: Big Lazy Robot.

ROBH RUPPEL is currently the Art Director at Naughty Dog located in
Los Angeles and working on the game The Last of Us and previous
games include, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception and Uncharted 2:
Among Thieves. Previously Robh was the Art Director for the animated
feature films Meet the Robinsons and Brother Bear and did visual development
work on films like Treasure Planet, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Tarzan,
Mulan and The Emperor’s New Groove.

The Wellington Workshop wrapped up a few weeks ago
and was a HUGE success! Lot's of great demo's
and presentations - truly inspiring.
We're now on to the next workshop
coming up in Adelaide in January 2013!
This one will be a full 2-week workshop, and will be
jam packed full of excellent creatives and inspiring work.
