my man has had so many fizzy drinks that his teeth have all but rotted away. the shards that remain spell out the words pure evil because he is so terribly mean. need to work on a crown, for the time being he has a cap.

@Pixeltuner. You work so fast it's hardly fair. I love the wierdness of the face/crown. Think I agree with Artina that he (it?) is looking a bit apprehensive in that pose, but he certainly looks powerful enough.

@MasterTroglodyte It's not too casual in my opinion. I actually think yours fit the brief the best at the moment: No clichés means as little lava as possible right?

@PxelSlayer That is outside the box for sure. Don't think I even understand what's going on at the bottom The giant hands seem a little out of place because of the size and pink color, but I love the insectoid crown.

This theme is unusual territory for me, but I want to give it a shot.

Here are some quick silhouettes to start things off. I'm leaning towards nr.3 because I think He'd be fun to draw, with twisting faces all over the crown and stuff.

Freakin' awesome entries so far! Just tossin' mine in here, missed the anti-cliché brief by a mile haha but I don't plan on finishing it (not enough time so just sharing ideas). Good luck to everyone!

I will try some variations to make him more imposing or cruel

Extremely cool devil Pixeltuner, i agree about what others are saying, but also about what you said before about no need to show the aggressiveness. Just wanted to say that a neutral pose would be an option too, no need to change 180º your initial concept.

    Great work everyone.

@Mark Tarrise He looks terrible, in a good way. Is that babies faces on his face? I think you should stick with this one.

@Ironbyte Reminds me of Goro. Is that bear paws on the lower set of arms?

@jsn the third one seems the most unusual I think. He's off balance quite a bit though. to help you with that you can flip your drawing while your working to give you a fresh view of the character.

@GEB That looks awsome. Sort of a cross between the devil and death?

@Pixeltuner Elephant's stroke has a point about neutral, but your suggestion of imposing sounds better to me.

Obstfelder - that's a good ref for the torso anatomy, thanks! Was thinking bear/lion for the lower half

Here’s some feedback, the non offensive, only trying to help kind

Eofn – Thanks (and Parsakoira) for repeatedly coming up with these great topics, it’s a privilege to see such great work produced week after week.

Pixeltuner – I like the pentagram, look forward to seeing what you do, last round was really awesome. For the skin texture you could go all volcanic rock, fire and brimstone and all that!

Incinerated – Great starting point, like the design of thumb 1 and the pose of 3. Hope to see more soon.

Ironbyte – Like the concept, could have some really cool armour with the mass and structure you’ve got. At the moment it looks like his heads on fire! Could you source the flames at the mouth or eyes maybe? Great design.

PxelSlayer – Kinda looks like a tree!?!... But I trust your judgement, being as you’re a genius at this stuff. I prefer thumb one, could picture a New York skyline as the base, give a huge sense of scale.

Sandyman – Good start, great arms and head details.

MasterTroglodyte – Really cool, oozes evil, you could have fun getting the detailing really elegant.

Jon n – interesting style, reminds me of Sharky and George! Nice to see something different, and cool. Not sure “pure evil” would use a straw!

Obstfelder – I really like #3, crown of many faces, has great potential

Lhune – Great start, I like the proportions, maybe the bottom half is less well defined than the top but that probably enhances the design.

Mark Tarrisse– love the detail in the face. I hope you keep going with this cos lots of potential.

Jsn – I like 2 & 4 best, they have better presence and 4 for me has a really cool expression.

GEB – like a moth to a flame that’s all I can say! I love the crown… and axe… and pose! You can do this stuff in your sleep, my question though is, how can you push yourself even further?

Here is my start, I like it but think it’s a bit too generic, might keep the pose and change the design.
