If your slippers feel unusually warm and wet when nature calls in the middle of the night, take a closer look. It might be your last.

Not much quantity of entries but very condensed amount of quality, i couldn't decide so i voted for the four that i felt were well done and that can be easily related to the character's description.

    Just my opinion...

@Albino your idea is incredible original and the character design and rendering is very striking. Is always great to see your work.
@PxelSlayer, very nice, lot of character in the facial expresion and body gesture. The presentation you did matched perfectly the concept.
@Sushy, i liked it a lot, it's just that I like more others and i can´t vote for all! The only thing i think is missing is a little of bounced light to make it look more grounded. But it just may be a style decision.
@dan, amazing piece, i like the whatercolor feeling it has (for me at least).
@Cameli great anatomy and concept , ver solid work but it could fit ten different descriptions, the only thing that relates the character with the challenge description is your explanation behind it, but the design does not speak for itself or gives any clues about being "the thing under the bed"
@Obstfelder, if i'll have to pick one entry to illustrate a book called "the thing under the bed", i´ll pick yours. Very appealing piece, the colors, the light, the crushed guy is amazing, is looking both meneacing and charming at the same time....great work.
@Liffey, the head with the wave of arms is completely unique, looking great and funny with the utensils....looks like there is danger but not quite!...maybe a bad dream or the imagination of the boy i think.
@Stinkfist, a lot of potential in the idea but two things to improve imo would be...to avoid a front view for the presentation (though the idea of having the guy face to face makes sense for the impact, is not good to show the character), and the other is to try to achieve more depth.

It was almost imposible to vote this time.

Dan and Cameli. I am madly in love with Dan's entry - such a story behind it, emotion, original design and an excellent approach. Cameli's entry I dig also.

@Albino When I first looked at this I said "Dammit!", which means you totally rocked my ass, good work
@PxelSlayer, Nice character, it could be rendered out more but you captured what you needed to and I'd say it's definitely successful.
@Sushy, Great detailed piece, love that you put a lot of effort in and did a whole illustration. On the technical side it can use some work, specifically locate a light source and use drop shadows to bring things together.
@dan, nothing to say but that is just awesome oh, actually i do have a critique! post in the wip thread next time so these awesome pieces don't bitch-slap me out of nowhere! you too albino! lol
@Cameli Great design, great render. my one bit of advice would be to tie it into the theme more, as right now it could be anything.
@Obstfelder, turned out well, i'd still like to see a bit more color circulation, but on the whole i think you came out with a satisfying piece
@Stinkfist I can't really see that much of the character, probably would have been better to choose a composition that could show off its design more

    Good job, all

    Fun challenge, and great entries

@albino-Z Your character is really disturbing, and I love how you've combined that with silly humor. Very surprising
@PxelSlayer I like the character, but except for the crayon, he doesn't have "that under the bed"
@Sushy I like the idea of a toy world. I still think you could have done some changes to the light to get more depth to it.
@dan liimatta That's great. The detail with the toys and skull trophies is great and horrible.
@Cameli What the others said. Great rendering but it's more "the thing" without the bed.
@Liffey I really like the hand monster. It's still a bit rough, and some of the enviroment Elements seem out of place. Is it supposed to be in a hotel?
@Stinkfist Agree with the other comments, and also the frontal light source is not helping to show off the shapes of the character.

    Happy drawing!
